MONTEVIDEO FANTASTIC FILM FESTIVAL CALL FOR ENTRIES - REGULATIONS AND FORMS
October 12 to 17, 2010 - Cine Universitario
1) All the horror, sci-fi, fantastic and bizarre films (animation, fiction, documentary), produced after January 1st, 2009, can participate.
2) Running time must not exceed 25 minutes for short films, and 59 minutes for medium length films.
3) The Festival will not accept films that have been exhibited in commercial movie theatres or festivals in Montevideo. In all the sections, the films that didn´t have a public exhibition in the rest of Uruguay (outside Montevideo) and that they have not been put on line in Internet, will be favored in the final selection.
4) The films will pass through a pre-selection by the Festival Programme Committee, composed by three members.
5) The films must be sent in a DVD copy (PAL), together with the Film Festival Submission Form and the material indicated in point 6, to

For international films please write on the envelope: "Sin valor comercial; solamente con propósito cultural" - "No commercial value, for cultural purposes only".
The submission deadline is August 16th, 2010.
6) Together with the DVD that contains the film, a CD must be sent with at least two jpg or tiff images of the film (300 DPI) and a biofilmography of the director. For cases of long feature films, we recommend to put a trailer (not more than 2 minutes length) or any other promotional material, like a poster or lobby cards.
7) The films that are not in Spanish language must be sent with Spanish subtitles or at least a dialogue list or a subtitle list in Spanish or English, in order to facilitate the translation.
8) It is recommended not to include color or calibration bars, protection systems and menu for presentation in the DVD that contains the film. The Festival will not accept discs with technical problems, like pixelation or image jumps.
9) The Organization of the Festival will contact the directors/producers whose films had been selected to be in competition or in the informative sections. If a director/producer does not receive the e-mail, that means the film will not participate in the Festival.
The shorts and medium length films will only be exhibited on DVD.
The titles of the films selected to be in competition and the titles of other ones that will be exhibited in the Non-Competitive Informative Section will be put in the Festival web (www.montevideofantastico.com.uy), a few days before the Festival begins.
10) No more than one film of a same director will be exhibited in each competitive section.
11) The Festival will give the following awards:
Best Long Feature Film + the Jury´s Special Mentions
Best Latin American Long Feature Film
Best Short Film + the Jury´s Special Mentions
Best Latin American Short Film
Best Uruguayan Short Film
Audience Choice Award for Best Long Feature Film
Audience Choice Award for Best Latin American Long Feature Film
Audience Choice Award for Best Short Film
Audience Choice Award for Best Latin American Short Film
Audience Choice Award for Best Uruguayan Short Film
12) The films selected to be in competition and in the Non-Competitive Informative Section will not be returned. They will be part of the Festival Archive.
13) The Festival will determine not only the selected material, but the sections and the order and dates of exhibitions.
14) The Festival will exhibit a selected film until 3 times (presentation, repetition and a new exhibition in case the film will be awarded by jury members).
15) The participation in the Festival implies the acceptation of all the Regulations and Forms of the 2010 edition of Montevideo Fantastic Film Festival.
Any unexpected fact not established in this Rules and Regulations will be interpretated and resolved by the Organizer Committee of the Festival. There will be no place for subsequent claims.
